New Zealand
Southdown Babydolls & African Pygmy Sheep
Small sheep. Big personalities.
We breed purebred Southdown Babydolls and African Pygmy and miniature sheep, with lambs finding homes all over New Zealand. Our sheep are carefully bred, well handled and, frankly, extremely good at convincing people they need sheep.
Established at Nightrave since 2014
Teddy-bear faces, sweet natures and all the charm of a Southdown in a miniature package.
Our foundation breeding stock was imported from Roblin Babydolls in New South Wales, Australia, beginning in 2014. We absolutely guarantee our Babydolls are 100% purebred.
Our Babydoll lambs are registered and wear brass registration tags in their ears. Lambs leave vaccinated and docked, ready to steal the show at Pet Day — or simply become very small, very appealing lawnmowers.

The little hobby project that escalated
Smaller and finer than a Babydoll, often beautifully coloured, and almost offensively cute.
Our foundation African Pygmy stock came directly from Michael Willis at Willowbank, Canterbury, where the African Pygmy sheep programme is being developed in New Zealand. Nightrave works collaboratively with the programme as these sheep continue to develop and establish here.
Alongside our African Pygmy breeding stock, we use carefully selected miniature ewes — including Babydoll and Dwarf Romney lines — to produce gorgeous small sheep in a wonderful range of colours. Selected animals may also contribute back into the developing bloodline in consultation with the programme.
Some people want to understand every generation and percentage. Some people take one look at the babies and say give sheep. We cater for both.
Mark Anthony at Nightrave — Anthony. Tiny, handsome, horned and self-shedding.

Please bring safe, secure and appropriate livestock transport. Suitable secure crates may work for young lambs by prior arrangement.
